Cadiz and Zaragoza set for draw in big Segunda

Cadiz and Zaragoza set for draw in big Segunda

With just four games left in the Spanish Segunda, the race for the play-off spots is still very tight. Two of the candidates for the top-six meet on Monday night, as Cadiz host Real Zaragoza.

There is just a point between the seventh-place home side and Zaragoza in fourth-place.

Cadiz’s promotion charge has been hindered of late by a winless run of seven games in the Segunda. However, six of those seven games have finished all square.

The home side’s recent league games have been low scoring, with their last eight Segunda producing under 2.5 goals.

Alvaro’s team are unbeaten in 15 home games in the Segunda. However, once again draws have hampered their bid for top-flight football next season, as they have drawn four of their last five league games on home soil.

Four of their last five league games at Ramon de Carranza have produced under 2.5 goals. A home win would move the home side above the visitors and back into the play-off spots.

Zaragoza are mathematically still in the race for automatic promotion. However, the visitors are nine points behind second-place Huesca in the table with just four league games remaining.

Natxo Gonzalez’s team have won four of their last six league games, suffering just one defeat in the process. Zaragoza’s recent games have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four Segunda outings.

The visitors have failed to win in their last two away games after four consecutive victories on their travels in the Spanish second tier. Zaragoza have scored in their last nine games on the road in the Segunda.

Forebet predicts that this potentially crucial game will finish in a low scoring draw, keeping both teams in contention for promotion.
