Clarets and Cherries set to finish all square

Clarets and Cherries set to finish all square

On Sunday afternoon, Burnley host Bournemouth at Turf Moor, as the visitors look to seal a top-ten finish.

Burnley are set for their highest Premier League finish, as the Clarets are currently in seventh place in the table. Sean Dyche’s side has qualified for the Europa League via their league position.

Despite their lofty league position, the team from Lancashire have failed to win in their last four matches in the Premier League. The Clarets recent Premier League games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine league outings.

The home side’s home form in the top-flight has been unusually poor of late, as the Clarets have claimed just two victories from their last eight league matches on home soil.

Four of Burnley’s last five home games in the Premier League has seen both teams’ score, which is a record that could continue considering there have been over 2.5 goals in five of Bournemouth’s last six away games.

Bournemouth are still in with a chance of a top-half finish this season. Eddie Howe’s team are level on points with tenth-place Newcastle. However, they are one of four teams on 41 points heading into the last day of the season.

The Cherries recent form in the Premier League has been poor, as the team from the south coast has won just twice in their last 11 league outings. The Cherries have also lost three of their last four top-flight games.

The visitor’s away record is poor of late, as they have won just once in their last 12 games on their travels in the league. Howe’s side has been leaky at the back on their travels in the league, having conceded at least two goals in four of their last five away games.

Neither side heads into the final day in great form, so Forebet’s prediction of a low scoring draw is unsurprising.
