Genk to improve European prospects against Gent
With the Belgium Jupiler Pro League reaching a key stage, two of the teams competing for a Europa League qualifying spot meet on Wednesday night, as Genk host Gent at the Luminus Arena.
The situation is tight in the fight for a top-four finish in the Belgian top-flight. The visitors are currently fifth-place in the table, a point clear of the home side. However, there is just two points separating Genk from fourth-place Charleroi, who occupy the Europa League qualifying berth.
The fact they have been drawing too many games has been a big problem for the home side of late, as they have drawn three of their last five league games.

Last time out, the visitors suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Sporting Charleroi. It was their third consecutive league defeat. Gent’s recent league outings have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven games.
The visitor’s recent away form in the Belgian top-flight has been inconsistent, although they have lost their last two away games in the league. Just like their Jupiler Pro League games in general, their away games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last ten games.
