The weekend action in Ligue 1 gets underway on Friday night as Amiens welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the Stade de la Licorne.

Amiens will be looking forward to this game as they are close to safety in Ligue 1, having felt the threat of relegation for much of the campaign. This is a potential opportunity for the fans to celebrate staying in Ligue 1 for another season.

Paris Saint-Germain have had the title sewn up for some time but that has not been enough for Unai Emery to remain in charge for next season.  The Spaniard will be hoping to go out on a high and take Paris Saint-Germain to the 100-point mark.

Amiens come into this match on the back of a good 0-0 draw in Monaco last week.  That result means Amiens have lost just one of their last seven games in Ligue and that came at Lyon three weeks ago.

Cristophe Pelissier’s team have been tough to beat at home in recent games and have lost only two of their last eight Ligue 1 matches.  There have been wins over Guingamp, Caen and Strasbourg plus draws with Montpellier, Toulouse and Troyes.

Having endured a spell of three home matches in a row without scoring a single goal, Amiens have netted 6 goals in their last two matches in-front of their own fans.

Paris Saint-Germain’s main target at the beginning of the season was to go far in the Champions League. However, a defeat to Real Madrid in the Round of 16 means they must wait again until next season to taste European glory, with a new manager at the helm.

Winning Ligue 1 was the minimum target for Emery and he has delivered.  Paris Saint-Germain have lost just two league matches this season and trends show they are unbeaten in their last thirteen league games.

The champions have won five of their last six away games and will be looking to bounce back with a win following a disappointing 2-2 draw at home with Guingamp last time out.  Paris Saint-Germain have been scoring plenty of goals this season and have netted at least once in each of their last fourteen away Ligue 1 games.

In fact, Paris Saint-Germain have only failed to score a goal once in their previous twenty-eight away league matches and trends show they have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six on the road.

Looking ahead to the team news and Amiens are expected to be without the injured trio of Stiven Mendoza, Serge Gapke and Lacina Traore.  Moussa Konate and Gael Kakuta are set to play in attack.

Paris Saint-Germain have doubts over the fitness of Adrien Rabot, Lassana Diarra and Marco Veratti.  However, Brazilian superstar Neymar, could make a return to the team for this game.

Despite the upturn in form of Amiens and Paris Saint-Germain’s poor result last week, it’s the away team who start this match as huge favourites.  Amiens have found their goal scoring touch in recent home games and may find the back of the net but Paris Saint-Germain have the fire-power to out-score the hosts and win the match.
