Atletico to record a win in San Sebastian

On Thursday night, Atletico Madrid will look to increase their chances of finishing as La Liga runners-up, as Los Rojiblancos visit Real Sociedad.
Real Sociedad have experienced a highly inconsistent campaign and currently sit mid-table in La Liga. The team from San Sebastian have at least found a touch of form recently, going three league games unbeaten having also recorded wins in their last two league outings.
Those wins have been down to improved defensive displays as Imanol Alguacil’s side have kept clean sheets in their last three league games, including a 1-0 win at struggling Las Palmas last time out.
Real Sociedad’s recent La Liga games have been high scoring, with 11 of their last 14 league outings producing over 2.5 goals.
The home side’s recent home games in La Liga have also been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last eight outings. Their recent form at the Anoeta has been good, with four wins from their last five games in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid are currently second in La Liga, four points clear of arch-rivals Real Madrid and six points clear of fourth-place Valencia.
While the race for the title is virtually over, Diego Simeone’s side will still want to finish above their city rivals Real Madrid this season.
Atletico’s recent form in La Ligahas been slightly inconsistent. However, the men from Madrid have still won three of their last five league games, including beating Levante 3-0 last time out in the Spanish top-flight.
Atleti’s recent away form has been a worry. The visitors have now failed to win in their last three games on their travels in La Liga, suffering two defeats in the process. Simeone’s side has also been involved in a number of low scoring games on their travels, with six of their last eight away games in La Liga producing under 2.5 goals.
