Schalke have been one of the surprise packages of this seasons Bundesliga. On Saturday afternoon, Domenico Tedesco’s side host Freiburg in the German top-flight, as the home side look to consolidate their spot in the Bundesliga top-four.

Schalke are currently second place in the Bundesliga table, five points clear of fifth-place in the race for those lucrative top-four spots in the German top-flight.

Tedesco’s team have now recorded five straight wins in the Bundesliga, after recording a 1-0 win over Wolfsburg last time out in the German top-flight.

A key to the recent good run of form has been clean sheets, as they have kept clean sheets in their last four league outings. The recent strong defensive record has led to under 2.5 goals scored in their last four outings in the Bundesliga.

Schalke have been slightly inconsistent of late in the German top-flight at home of late. However, the home side has lost just one of their last nine league games on home soil. The home side has also recorded consecutive wins at home in the league.

Freiburg are currently just five points clear of the relegation play-off and relegation spots after a four-game winless run in the Bundesliga. Last time out the visitors suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Stuttgart.

Christian Streich’s side has won just once in their last eight outings in the Bundesliga, which now has them looking over their shoulders nervously at the relegation zone.

The visitor’s away form in the Bundesliga has been a particular concern, as they have won just one of their last 16 games on the road in the German top-flight.

However, at least they have picked-up draws in five of their last six away games on the road in the Bundesliga.

Forebet predicts that Schalke will strengthen their position in the Bundesliga top-four by recording a victory in a low scoring encounter.
