Hearts and Kilmarnock set for stalemate in the SPL
Two teams looking to consolidate their top-six positions in the SPL meet on Tuesday night, as Hearts host Kilmarnock at Murrayfield.
Hearts are currently fifth-place in the SPL table, occupying one of the Europa League play-off spots. However, seventh-place Motherwell are just three points behind, so the home side cannot afford any slip-ups in this clash.
Craig Levein’s side have won just two of their last nine games in the SPL, including just one of their last five outings in the Scottish top-flight. Their recent SPL games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine outings in the Scottish top-flight.
Hearts have drawn eight of their last 15 games in the SPL and suffered just two league defeats in that spell. The home side are also unbeaten in nine home games in the SPL. Levein’s side have an impressive recent defensive record on home soil in the SPL, keeping clean sheets in five of their last six home games in the top-flight.
Kilmarnock are sixth in the SPL table, two points behind the home side and just a point ahead of Motherwell in the race for the Europa League play-off spots.
Killie have been in decent form of late, as they are unbeaten in their last four games in the SPL, recording three wins and a draw in the process. A 2-2 draw at home against Hibs last time out ended a three-game winning run for the team joint-coached by Steve Clarke.
Kilmarnock have suffered just one away defeat in their last 11 outings in the Scottish top-flight. However, they do have a habit of drawing their away games, drawing six of those 11 games.
There is very little between these two teams and Forebet predicts that this game will finish in a low scoring draw.
