Swans and Wolves to finish all square

On Wednesday night, Swansea and Championship leaders Wolves meet at the Liberty Stadium in an FA Cup third-round replay. The first game finished goalless at Molineux.

Swansea are in deep relegation trouble in the Premier League and could have done without this midweek encounter. Swans boss Carlos Carvalhal will no doubt rotate his squad with Premier League survival the Welsh clubs priority this season.

Results have slightly improved since the arrival of the former Sheffield Wednesday boss, as the home side have lost just one of their four games under the Portuguese. The defeat was understandable as it was against Tottenham.

Carvalhal’s team have recorded consecutive draws in all competitions. Last time out the Swans drew 1-1 at fellow Premier League strugglers Newcastle United.

Swansea’s recent home form has been poor, as they recorded just one win in their last eight games at the Liberty Stadium, suffering five defeats in the process.

Wolves are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table and look set for promotion back to the top-flight this season.

The side from the Midlands are unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions under highly-rated boss Nuno Espirito Santo. A key to that unbeaten run is the visitor’s recent defensive record, as they have kept clean sheets in seven of their last nine games in all competitions.

However, the Championship leaders have now drawn their last two games 0-0, with a goalless draw at Barnsley following the 0-0 between these two teams ten days ago.

The visitors are seven games unbeaten on their travels in all competitions, recording five wins and two draws. Santo’s team have also kept five clean sheets in their last seven away games in all competitions.

Forebet predicts that these two teams will need extra time and/or penalty kicks to separate them.
