The final match in La Liga on Sunday is between Real Sociedad and Barcelona.  The visitors make the trip to the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta defending an undefeated record this season and will not want to give that up.

The current La Liga leaders have their sights set firmly on another title and this will be a match they believe they should be winning.

Real Sociedad need the points themselves to ease away from the relegation zone and possibly move into the top half of the table.  Not many onlookers will give them a chance but their recent record against Barcelona suggests they could take something from the game.

Trends show Real Sociedad have won only one of their last eight games in all competitions and this is not the form you want to have coming into a match against the team running away with the title.

Not only have Real Sociedad won just one of their last eight games, they have lost five of the last seven and even picking up a draw has not been easy for Eusebio Sacristan’s team.  However, they did win their last home league game which was against Sevilla and will be looking forward to playing in-front of their own fans again following the 1-0 loss at Leganes last week.

In fact, Real Sociedad have lost only one of their last six home La Liga games and have picked up good wins over Sevilla and Eibar.  Both teams have scored in nine of their last eleven home matches.

There seems to be no letting up in Barcelona this season and they cruised to a 5-0 win over Celta Vigo at home in the second leg of their Copa Del Rey Round of 16 game on Thursday night.  Lionel Messi was once again the inspiration for the comfortable victory.

Trends show Barcelona are undefeated in their last thirty-six matches in all competitions and have won eight of their last ten in La Liga.

Ernesto Valverde’s team have lost only two of their last twenty-four La Liga matches and have won ten of their last twelve on the road.  They have won by 2 more goals in each of their last four league games and have kept a clean sheet in all four of those matches.

Team News and Real Sociedad are without defender Inigo Martinez who has a calf problem and Carlos Martinez also misses out with an injury.  Adnan Januzaj should be fit to start the match on the right side of the attack.

Barcelona travel without central defender Samuel Umtiti and new signing Philippe Coutinho, as both players are injured.  Sergio Busquets is back from suspensions and should play in midfield with Ousmane Dembele also available again following injury.

Real Sociedad know how to make things tough for Barcelona, who have failed to win on their past seven league visits to the Anoeta.  However, this could be the season which ends that record and Barcelona should come away with their first 3 points since the 2006/07 campaign.
