Jets to get the better of the Roar

Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar go head-to-head at the McDonald Jones Stadium in Australia’s A-League.

The Jets are currently second–place in the Australian top-flight table, eight points behind league leaders Sydney. The home side have been in good form of late in the league, winning four of their last six games, while losing just once.

The Jets have been highly prolific in recent league games, scoring two or more goals in ten of their last 11 games in the Australian top-flight.

Ernie Merrick’s side head into this clash with a good home record in the A-League, having won five of their last six league games on home soil. They have also been prolific on home soil in the Australian top-flight, scoring at least two goals in six of their last eight games at the McDonald Jones Stadium.

The home side have had the better of recent games with Brisbane Roar, winning three of the last four meetings in all competitions.

Brisbane Roar are experiencing a poor campaign, as they currently sit ninth in the A-League table. John Aloisi’s side have been in terrible form of late, losing four of their last five league outings.

In fact, the Roar have won just two of their last eight games in the A-League, rather spluttering than roaring. Their recent league games have at least been entertaining with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league games.

A key factor in those recent high scoring games is the visitor’s poor defensive record, as they have conceded two or more goals in four of their last five league outings.

Aloisi’s side have a mixed recent away record in the A-League. However, they have recorded consecutive wins on their travels, while also suffering just one defeat in their last five A-league games on the road.

Forebet predicts that the Roar’s recent decent away run will end in this clash with a home win.
