Strasbourg to move above Guingamp in Ligue One

On Friday night, Strasbourg host Guingamp in Ligue One at the Stade de la Meinau, as both teams look to move up the table.

Strasbourg currently find themselves 11th in the Ligue One table, two points behind the eighth-place visitors. A win for the home side would not only move RCS above Guingamp but could in fact move them up to sixth-place in the table.

Thierry Laurey’s side saw a three-game Ligue One winning run come to an end last time out, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at Metz.

Le Racing’s form has been decent of late in Ligue One, as the defeat against Metz also ended a six-game unbeaten run in the French top-flight.

The side promoted from French second tier last season are currently on an unbeaten run of six games on home soil, having recorded three wins and three draws. They have also been prolific on home soil, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six league outings at home.

Guingamp heads into this clash in decent form. The visitors are unbeaten in five Ligue One games. Last time out in Ligue One, the visitors defeated St Etienne 2-1.

Antoine Kombouare’s side’s improvement in form of late has been due to good defensive displays, as the visitors have now kept clean sheets in four of their last five outings in the French top-flight.

However, Guingamp have a poor away record in Ligue One, recording just two wins in their last 22 games on their travels. They have taken four points from their last two away games in Ligue One, so their away form may be turning for the better.

Guingamp have struggled for goals in recent away games in Ligue One, as they have failed to score in three of their last four games on the road.

Forebet predicts that Strasbourg will get back to winning ways in this clash and leap up the Ligue One table in the process.
