On Saturday lunchtime, Atletico Madrid host Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano in La Liga.

Atletico are currently second in La Liga and the closest team to leaders Barcelona, who are nine points clear at the top table.

The men from Madrid saw a four-game winning run in La Liga come to an end last time out, as Diego Simeone’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Espanyol.

The defeat also ended a 21-game unbeaten run in La Liga for the home side. However, they will be confident of getting back to winning ways in this clash.

Atletico’s recent La Liga games have been low scoring, with ten of their last 12 games in the Spanish top-flight finishing with under 2.5 goals.

Simeone’s side are also unbeaten in nine home games in La Liga, having recorded six wins and three draws. Atleti’s recent La Liga games on home soil have also been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last ten outings.

Getafe are enjoying a decent La Liga campaign so far and currently sit eighth in the Spanish top-flight table. The visitor’s recent La Liga form has been inconsistent, although they have lost just two of their last nine outings in the top-flight.

Last time out in the Spanish top-flight, the visitors won 2-0 against Las Palmas. This encounter is set to be a much tougher one though.

Like the home side, Getafe’s recent La Liga games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last five outings in the Spanish top-flight.

One recent negative for the visitors has been their away form, as they have failed to win in their last six away games in La Liga, collecting three draws and suffering three defeats.

The trends point to a low-scoring game, while Forebet predicts a low scoring home win.
