On Saturday night, Sevilla host Real Betis at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan in the Seville derby, as the home look to stay in touch with La Liga’s top-four.

Sevilla heads into this game on the back of a three-game winless run in La Liga. Last time out the Andalucian side suffered a 3-1 defeat at Real Sociedad. Despite the recent poor run of form, the home side are still fifth in the table, just four points behind fourth-place Real Madrid.

Vincenzo Montella will make his debut in the home dugout after replacing Eduardo Berizzo as the Andalucian’s boss. One aspect of the team he will not need to fix is Sevilla’s home form.

They are unbeaten in 21 home matches in La Liga, winning six of their last seven league games at the Sanchez Pizjuan. The home side have also been defensively sound on home soil in the Spanish top-flight of late, keeping clean sheets in five of their last seven home games.

Real Betis are not in the best of form heading into this Seville derby, having won just one of their last eight outings in La Liga. To make matters worse the home side have suffered five defeats in that period.

The visitors recent poor run of form has seen them slip to 14th in the table, just six points clear of the relegation zone. Betis’ recent games in La Liga have been low scoring, with their last four league games producing under 2.5 goals.

Real Betis’ recent away form has been poor in La Liga. However, a 2-0 win at Malaga last time out ended a three-game losing run on their travels. A record of two away wins in 11 games is not a great one.

Forebet predicts that the home side will record a victory and keep pace with La Liga’s top-four.
