On Saturday, Fiorentina host big-spending AC Milan at the Artemio Franchi in Serie A, as the home side look to move into the European spots.
Fiorentina are currently eighth in the Italian top-flight table after an inconsistent run of form in Serie A. However, Stefano Pioli’s side are just a point off the sixth place Sampdoria and the last Europa League spot.
A run of four draws in their last six league games has rather hampered the Viola’s chances of pushing into the top-six. Those last six games have been low scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of the six matches.
Fiorentina have a decent home record of late in Serie A, losing just one of their last seven league outings while recording four victories in the process. Pioli’s team have been relatively solid in defence in Serie A on home soil of late keeping clean sheets in three of their last four home games.
AC Milan are experiencing a very poor Serie A campaign after spending big in the summer in an attempt to challenge for the Scudetto. Things have not gone the Rossoneri’s way this season and the men from Milan currently lie 11th in the table, two points behind the home side.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side have won just once in their last six Serie A outings, suffering consecutive defeats against Verona and Atalanta. The 2-0 home defeat last time out against Atalanta means that the Rossoneri have won just one of their last six home games.
Their recent away record is slightly better. However, the visitors have won just two of their last eight games on their travels in the Italian top-flight.
Fiorentina have not been in great form of late, but AC Milan are struggling for form too. Forebet predicts a home win and the Rossoneri’s recent struggles to continue.
