Burnley to move into the Premier League top-four

Burnley have a golden opportunity to move into the Premier League’s top-four on Tuesday night, as the Clarets welcome struggling Stoke City to Turf Moor.

The Clarets are currently seventh in the table. However, with the teams directly above them, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham not playing until Wednesday, Sean Dyche’s team have a chance to temporarily at least move into the Champions League spots.

Dyche’s team have been inconsistent of late, with their last four league games producing two wins and two defeats. However, the Clarets have now won five of their last seven outings in the English top-flight.

Last time out, the team from Lancashire recorded a 1-0 win over ten-man Watford at Turf Moor. It was another low scoring game in the Premier League for the Clarets, as six of their last seven league outings have produced under 2.5 goals.

The home side’s recent record on their own patch in the Premier League is decent, as they have lost just one of their last seven games while recording four wins in the process.

Stoke are just three points outside of the Premier League relegation zone after a poor run of form in the top-flight. The Potters have won just one of their last six Premier League outings while losing three of their last four games.

Last time out, Mark Hughes’ side suffered a 5-1 drubbing at Tottenham. The heavy defeat means that the team from the Potteries now have the worst defensive record in the Premier League.

The visitor’s away form is poor too, as they have won one of their last eight games on their travels in the English top-flight. The Potters have also conceded two or more in five of their last six away games in the top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Burnley will add to Stoke’s recent misery and move into the top-four of the Premier League table.
