Marseille to seal place in the knockout stages of the Europa League

On Thursday night, French outfit Marseille host Austrian side RB Salzburg at the Stade Velodrome in the Europa League, as the home side looks to seal their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
Marseille are currently second in the group and two points clear of third-place Konyaspor. A victory would see them qualify for the knockout stages, although a draw could be enough depending on the result in the other game.
The home side really have enjoyed a mixed campaign in the Europa League this season, winning two, losing two and drawing one of their group games.
Last time out in the competition, the French side drew 1-1 with Turkish side Konyaspor. The draw still left the home side in with a chance of qualifying.
Marseille’s recent games in the Europa League have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five European outings.
The French side have been strong on home soil in the competition, winning their last four European games on home soil, while also winning six out of their last seven games at home.
RB Salzburg have already won the group and look to have very little to play for in this encounter. The Austrian side are ten games unbeaten in Europe’s secondary competition, having recorded seven victories.
Last time out in the competition, Marco Rose’s side recorded a 3-0 win over Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes.
The visitors form on their travels in the Europa League is decent, as they are now unbeaten in five games in Europe’s secondary competition. Salzburg’s recent away games in the competition have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five away games.
