European champions set for win over Dortmund

Real Madrid have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, they still have one group fixture to fulfil, as Zinedine Zidane’s team host Dortmund at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

The Spanish giants are currently second in the group, with Premier League Tottenham currently top. The north London side only needs a draw in their last game against APOEL to seal top spot in the group.

However, Zidane’s team will be hoping that Mauricio Pochettino’s men slip up against the Cypriot side at Wembley.

The team from the Spanish capital have struggled to hit top form this season. In fact, the European champions have now won just three of their last eight games in all competitions.

Their recent record in the Champions League is relatively good, though, as they have won four of their last six games in the competition. However, a defeat and a draw against Spurs look set to cost them top spot.

Dortmund have already been eliminated from the competition and are third in the group. BVB will drop down into the Europa League if they better APOEL’s result in the other game.

The visitor’s recent form has been poor, as they have now failed to win in seven games in all competitions. The German side’s recent record in the Champions League is not great either, as they have won just one of their last ten games in Europe’s elite competition, suffering six defeats in the process.

BVB’s recent away form in the Champions League is also poor, as they have failed to win any of their last five games in the competition, suffering three defeats and earning just two draws.

Real Madrid have been inconsistent of late. However, Dortmund have been in poor form and Forebet predicts that the home side will come out on top in this clash.
