Wolves to win Midlands derby against Birmingham
Championship leaders Wolves could extend their lead at the top of the table to four points when they visit struggling Midlands neighbours Birmingham on Monday night.
Birmingham are enduring a nightmare campaign in the second tier under Steve Cotterill. The Blues are currently 22nd in the Championship and just two points off the bottom of the table.
A record of just 16 points from their 19 league games so far suggests that they really are struggling for results this season.
Cotterill’s side have won just one of their last seven games in the Championship, having lost three of their last five games in the second tier.
The Blues last eight league games have produced under 2.5 goals, while the home side have scored just two goals in their last seven outings in the Championship.
Their recent home form is decent, though, as they have won three of their last five home games in the second tier, losing just once in the process.
Wolves have been impressive this season under highly-rated Portuguese boss Nuno Espirito Santo. The visitors are currently a point clear at the top of the table, with this game in hand.
Their recent form in the second tier has been excellent, as they have now recorded five consecutive wins, scoring two or more goals in all five victories.
Last time out the visitors recorded a 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at Molineux. In fact, they have now scored nine goals in their last two Championship outings.
Their recent away record in the second tier is slightly patchy, as they have won three and lost two of their last five games on their travels in the league. However, they have won their last two away games at Norwich and Reading.
Forebet predicts that Wolves will move further clear at the top of the table, while Birmingham will remain in the Championship relegation zone.
