Schalke have made a very encouraging start to their Bundesliga campaign. They currently sit fourth in the table and on Sunday afternoon welcome Hamburg to the Veltins Arena.

Schalke are currently on a good run of form and unbeaten in five games in the German top-flight after suffering early season defeats against Hannover, Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich.

One thing to note about their recent games in the Bundesliga is that they have been low scoring, with Schalke’s last six league games producing under 2.5 goals.

Schalke’s record on home soil in the Bundesliga is a mixed one of late. However, they have lost just one of their last 13 home games in the German top-flight.

The home side’s recent Bundesliga games at the Veltins Arena have been low scoring, with six of their last eight games producing under 2.5 goals, including their last three.

Hamburg are once again at the wrong end of the Bundesliga table in 15th place. The visitor’s recent form in the Bundesliga has been poor. However, they did end a three-game losing streak last time out by beating Stuttgart.

A record of seven defeats in their last nine Bundesliga outings does not suggest that the visitors are going to avoid their annual relegation battle this season.

Hamburg’s recent Bundesliga games have at least been entertaining, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven outings in the German top-flight.

The perennial strugglers have a terrible away record in the Bundesliga. They have won just one of their last 11 games on their travels, suffering eight defeats in the process, while losing their last four away games.

Recent meetings between these two teams have been relatively close. However, Forebet predicts that Schalke will continue their strong run in the Bundesliga with a victory in a high scoring game.
