For much of the Brazilian Serie A season, Corinthians have been the dominant team. On Wednesday night, the Sao Paulo outfit could win the Serie A title by beating Fluminense at the Arena Corinthians.

The home side may well have sealed the title prior to kick-off in this game, depending on their title rivals results. However, for Corinthians the scenario is simple. If they win then they will be Brazilian champions.

The chances of a home win in this clash are good too, as Fabio Carille’s side have won their last three games in Serie A, including winning 1-0 against relegation-threatened Avai last time out.

Corinthians recent games in Serie A have been tight encounters, with five of their last seven games producing under 2.5 goals.

The league leaders have a good recent home record in Serie A, having won four of their last five games on home soil, while also keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Fluminense are currently 14th in the Serie A table but are just a few points behind the teams that currently occupy the Copa Sudamericana spots. The Tricolor have struggled for consistency of late in the Brazilian top-flight, though.

Fluminense’s recent record in Serie A tells a story of inconsistency, as they have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six games in the Brazilian top-flight. Last time out, they suffered a 3-1 defeat at Cruzeiro.

The visitor’s recent away record is poor in Serie A, as they have won just one of their last ten games on their travels in the league.

The last five meetings between these two teams in all competitions have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in each of the clashes.

Forebet predicts that run will end in this game, with this clash producing over 2.5 goals and a home win that will seal the Brazilian title.
