On Wednesday night Gremio welcome Sao Paulo to the Arena do Gremio, as the home side look to keep their title hopes alive in Serie A.

Gremio are currently ten points behind Serie A leaders Corinthians with just four league games remaining. The Porto Alegre outfit knows that it is unlikely that they will be able to catch the leaders, but will keep going until it is mathematically impossible to win the title.

The home sides form has been mixed of late, which has hindered their attempts at catching Corinthians.

They have lost just one of their last seven games in the Brazilian top-flight, but three draws in their last six league games have stalled their title challenge. Last time out, Renato Gaucho’s side drew 1-1 with Vitoria.

Gremio’s recent home record is also a mixed one, as they have won two, drawn one and lost three of their last six Serie A games on home soil.

Sao Paulo are currently 11th in the Serie A table after a decent run of form of late in the Brazilian top-flight. The visitors are now five games unbeaten in Serie A. However, they have drawn their last two games against Chapecoense and last time out Vasco Da Gama.

Sao Paulo are unbeaten in their last two away games in Serie A. However, they have won just three of their last 17 games on their travels in the league. Their recent away games in Serie A have also been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four outings.

Recent meetings between these two teams have been tight affairs and eight of the last nine games between the pair have produced under 2.5 goals.

Forebet predicts this game will also produce under 2.5 goals, with the home side recording a victory.
