Mohamed Salah hitting top form at Liverpool
Wikipedia.org

On Saturday evening, Liverpool recorded an empathic 4-1 win at West Ham in the Premier League. The game added pressure on Irons boss Slaven Bilic, with media reports suggesting that the Croatian could leave the club in the near future.

One of the stars of the show for Liverpool was summer signing Mohamed Salah, who played in an unfamiliar position behind lone striker Roberto Firmino. The Egyptian winger scored a brace and was a constant menace to the Hammers defence.

The 25-year-old is certainly a different player to the one who struggled to make it at Chelsea earlier in his career. A few seasons in Italy’s Serie A has helped the winger become a top Premier League player.

While his team have struggled for consistency, Salah has now scored seven times and produced three assists in his 11 appearances in the English top-flight since his summer arrival from Roma.

Salah, alongside the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane seems to be perfect for Liverpool’s style of play. The pace of Salah and Mane on the counter-attack is enough to worry any defence in the Premier League.

That counter-attacking style was on display for Salah’s first goal at the London Stadium on Saturday evening. Few Premier League teams are as good at counter-attacking as the Merseysiders. Salah is a key to that strategy.

Obviously, the move to Chelsea early in his career was just slightly too soon for the winger. There was talk of him returning to Stamford Bridge prior to his move to Merseyside.

However, everybody associated with Jurgen Klopp’s team will be glad that the Egyptian decided on a move to Anfield. The former-Roma star has hit the grounding running in his Premier League second coming.

The signs are that Mohamed Salah will only get better at Liverpool and if he does, then no doubt his team will be there or thereabouts when it comes to places in the top-four in May.
