French champions Monaco face a tough test on Friday night, as they travel to Lyon in Ligue One. A victory would move the visitor’s level on points with arch-rivals and league leaders PSG.

Lyon have endured a mixed start to their campaign in Ligue One and are currently eighth-place in the table. OL’s main problem of late has been drawing too many games in the French top-flight, as four of their last six games in Ligue One have finished all square.

The home side have been prolific in Ligue One in recent months, though, scoring two or more goals in ten of their last 12 games in the French top-flight.

OL are unbeaten in six home games in Ligue One and the last team to beat them on home soil was, in fact, Monaco in April. Their home games have proven to produce goals galore in Ligue One, as the home side have scored two or more in their last six home games in the league, while also conceding two or more goals in four of those six unbeaten matches.

Monaco have started the new French Ligue One campaign in decent form, despite losing a number of key players in the summer. Last time out the French champions were held to a 1-1 at home against Montpellier.

However, the visitor's overall record in Ligue One in the last year is strong. Leonardo Jardim’s side have lost just one of their last 28 games in the French top-flight. Lyon did win at the Stade Louis ll last season, though.

The champion’s away recent away record is also very strong, as they have lost one of their last 18 league games on their travels, recording 13 wins in the process.

This game could be a tricky one for Jardim’s team, but Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a win and continue their good start to the Ligue One season.
