Palmeiras to make up ground on the top teams in Serie A

On Friday, Palmeiras host Bahia at the Allianz Parque in Serie A, as the home side look to make up ground on the teams above them in the Brazilian top-flight table.
A decent run of form in Serie A was ended last time out for Palmeiras, as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Santos. Prior to the defeat, the Sao Paulo outfit had recorded three wins and a draw from their previous four Serie A games.
Palmeiras have been involved in a number of low scoring games of late, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight games in the league. The Verdao’s home record has not been great of late in Serie A, as they have lost three of their last five games on home soil.
The home side’s recent games at the Allianz Parque in Serie A have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games.
Bahia are 13th in the league table and just a point clear of the relegation zone. However, the visitors are also just a point away from moving into the Copa Sudamericana spots, too.
The visitor's form has not been great of late, though, as they have won just one of their last five league games. However, their recent results have improved slightly with a win over Gremio and a draw against Coritiba in their last two league games.
Bahia have had major problems winning away from home in the Brazilian top-flight, as they have won just two of their last 14 games on their travels, while also failing to win in their last five games on the road.
Palmeiras will be confident of bouncing back from their derby defeat by Santos and Forebet predicts the Verdao will come out on top in this clash.
