Everton to bounce back against Burnley

Everton have endured a poor campaign so far. On Thursday night the Toffees drew 2-2 with Cypriot team Apollon Limassol in the Europa League at Goodison Park, despite the visitors going down to ten men late on.

The result was a disappointing one for the Merseysiders. However, they have a chance to bounce back on Sunday afternoon, as Ronald Koeman’s side welcome Burnley to Goodison.

The Toffees can at least point to the fact that they are now three games unbeaten in all competitions while recording two victories. However, a victory and an improved performance is required from the home side if Koeman is to avoid the wrath of his own fans.

Despite the poor start to their campaign, Everton still have a formidable home record in the Premier League, winning 11 of their last 13 top-flight games on home soil, including three of the last four games. The two teams that have won on Merseyside in that run were champions Chelsea and last season’s runners-up Tottenham.

Burnley have made a mixed start to their Premier League campaign, but have suffered just one defeat this season in the top-flight.

Last time out the side from Lancashire drew 0-0 with Huddersfield at Turf Moor, where ironically they have struggled to pick up points this season after turning the ground into fortress last season

The Clarets away form has been impressive this season, though, as Sean Dyche’s team have won at Chelsea and picked up draws at Tottenham and Liverpool.

However, prior to their good away results this season, the Clarets had a poor record on their travels in the top-flight winning just one of their previous 19 games on their travels in the top-flight.

Despite the home sides struggles this season, this clash could still be a tough one for the visitors. Forebet predicts that the home side will bounce back from their Europa League disappointment and record a morale-boosting victory.
