We have been treated to a full round of mid-week fixtures in La Liga as the season starts to take shape in Spain.

On Thursday night, there are three games to look forward to with the pick of the matches being between Levante and Real Sociedad.

Levante finished bottom of the top flight in the 2015/16 season and were relegated to the Segunda Division. They won promotion back to the top division last season but have been tipped to go straight back down by many experts.

However, Levante start this match in 9th place in La Liga and having begun the season strongly will be hoping to stay well clear of the relegation zone.

Trends show Levante are unbeaten in their four league games this season, winning one and drawing three.  They won their opening match of the season, defeating Villarreal 1-0 at home and this set the tone for the following games.

Levante have secured three successive draws in La Liga with the pick of the results coming at Real Madrid, a match which finished 1-1.  There have also been draws at home to Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia.

Including fixtures from the end of the 2015/16 season, trends show Levante are unbeaten at home in their previous eight La Liga fixtures.

Real Sociedad travel to Levante on the back of their first defeat of the season on the weekend. They lost 3-1 at home to Real Madrid despite having been level at 1-1 after 35 minutes.

Prior to that result, Real Sociedad won their three La Liga games with victory at home against Villarreal and two away wins against Celta Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna.  Real Sociedad have scored 7 goals away from home in two matches but also conceded 4 goals, making them an exciting team to watch on the road.

Including matches from last season, trends show Real Sociedad have lost only one of their last ten La Liga games, which was the defeat by the champions on the weekend.  They have not lost any of their last seven matches against Levante but have picked up just a single victory in their last eight away game against Levante in La Liga.

Looking at the team news ahead of this match and Levante will be without the injured trio of Roger Marti, Ivan Lopez and Jefferson Lerma.  Joss Luis Morales has returned from suspension and is expected to take his place on the left side of the attack for Levante.

Real Sociedad are still without the injured duo of Raul Navas and Carlos Martinez.  There are also doubts over the fitness of Inigo Martinez and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Levante are proving to be a difficult nut to crack this season and will be determined to get their second win of the season.  They have scored in every match this season and should do so again against a Real Sociedad team who have struggled defensively away from home.

However, Real Sociedad provide a real threat going forward and should score themselves making a scoring draw a distinct possibility in this game.
