Koln to pick up first Bundesliga win of the season

Koln to pick up first Bundesliga win of the season

Koln were one of many surprise packages in the Bundesliga last season, as Peter Stoger’s side finished in fifth-place earning them a place in the Europa League. However, this season has started in nightmare fashion for Koln and their supporters.

The German side have lost all four of their league games so far this season, but have an opportunity to get their first win of the campaign on Wednesday night when they host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Rhein Energie Stadion.

Koln heads into this clash on the back of a 5-0 hammering at Dortmund last time out in the German top-flight. It was the third consecutive game that the home side had conceded three or more goals in the Bundesliga.

They have also conceded two or more goals in their last five outings in all competitions, so need to tighten up in defence if they are to record their first Bundesliga win of the season.

Their recent home record is a mixed one of late in the league, but they have won four of their last seven games on home soil in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt for much of last season were threatening a top-five finish in the German top-flight. However, a poor run of form towards the end of the campaign saw the visitors eventually finish eleventh in the table.

The visitors have enjoyed a slightly better start to their Bundesliga campaign than the home side, picking up a win and a draw from their first four league games. Last time out Frankfurt suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Augsburg.

Frankfurt’s recent away record in the Bundesliga is poor, as they have lost seven of their last nine games on their travels in the German top-flight. However, they have picked up all four of their points this season on the road.

Forebet predicts that Koln will end their miserable run of form in this clash and pick up their first league win of the campaign.
