On Saturday lunchtime, Watford host Liverpool at Vicarage Road in the Premier League, as both teams look to pick up maximum points from their league opener.

Watford have performed their annual pre-season change of boss, with former Hull City boss Marco Silva replacing Italian Walter Mazzarri in the Hornets dugout.

The Portuguese boss is highly rated and has been busy in the transfer market strengthening his squad. Striker Andre Gray completed a club-record move from Burnley on Wednesday, following the likes of Will Hughes, Kiko Femenia, Richarlison and Nathanial Chalobah in joining the Herefordshire side this summer.

The home side finished last season in poor form, losing their last five outings in the Premier League and failing to score in four of those defeats.

The Hornets home record is mixed of late, as they lost their last two home games in the league, but they were against Liverpool and Manchester City. The Hornets had recorded victories in their previous three home games in the top-flight, though.

Liverpool will be looking to build on their fourth-place finish last season in the new league campaign. The Reds have not been that busy in the transfer market, although they have brought in Andrew Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have impressed in pre-season, which is not a surprise considering the Merseysiders won three of their last four games in the top-flight last season, without conceding a goal.

The Reds away record towards the end of the campaign was also impressive, as they recorded four wins on the trot, conceding just once. One of those victories came in a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road in the penultimate away league game of the campaign.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool’s excellent away form from the end of last season will continue in this clash, with Klopp’s team leaving Vicarage Road having recorded a victory.
