Botafogo to continue unbeaten run in Serie A

Botafogo will be looking to cement their place in Serie A’s top six when they visit Atletico PR on Friday.
Atletico PR are experiencing a poor campaign and are currently 16th place in the Brazilian top-flight. The home side have failed to win any of their last four games in Serie A. There have also been under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four league games.
Despite their poor recent form in Serie A the home side managed a very creditable 2-2 draw with Corinthians last time out in the league. The team from Curitiba have lost just three of their last 15 home games in Serie A, but all three of those defeats have been in their last six home games.
One positive for Fabiano Soares’ team is that they have a good home record against Botafogo, winning their last six home games against the visitors in all competitions. They have also kept clean sheets in five of their last seven home games against Botafogo.
Botafogo are currently sixth place in the Brazilian top-flight. However, a victory would move them up to fourth in the table. The Rio outfit have recorded two wins and a draw in their last three league outings.
However, their recent games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five Serie A games. The visitor’s away record in Serie A is not great, as Jair Ventura’s team have won just two of their last seven games on their travels in the league.
Botafogo’s away games in Serie A have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in 17 of their last 18 games on the road.
