Botafogo to leapfrog Sport Recife in the Serie A table
On Tuesday Botafogo host Sport Recife at the Estadio Nilton Santos in the Brazilian Serie A, as the home side look to leapfrog their opponents in the table.
Botafogo are experiencing a mixed campaign so far in the Brazilian top-flight and are currently 11th in the table. Results have improved of late for the home side of late, as they are currently on a run of three games without defeat in all competitions, recording two wins and a draw in the process.
Jair Ventura’s team have been involved in a number of tight games recently, with their last four games producing under 2.5 goals.
The Rio outfits recent home form has been mixed in Serie A, but they have suffered just one defeat in their last seven outings on home soil. The home side’s recent home games in Serie A have also been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine games.
A victory in this clash would see the home side move up the table to sixth place in the table and above the visitors.
Sport Recife are enjoying a good campaign in Serie A and could move up to as high as third place in the table with a victory in Rio.
The visitors head into this clash in good form having recorded six consecutive wins in all competitions, including their last four outings in Serie A. Vanderlei Luxemburgo’s team have also kept clean sheets in all four of those recent victories.
The visitors have been poor travellers in recent seasons in Serie A. However, they are currently on a three-game unbeaten run on their travels in the Brazilian top-flight, having recorded two wins and a draw on the road.
Despite Sport Recife’s recent good form, Forebet predicts that Botafogo will win this clash and move above the visitors in the Serie A table.
