Santos to continue decent form with win at Vasco Da Gama
On Saturday, Vasco Da Gama host Santos at the Estadio Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, as Santos aims to cut the gap at the top of the Serie A table.
Vasco Da Gama have experienced mixed fortunes of late in the Brazilian Serie A. Milton Mendes’ side currently sit eighth in the table and in the Copa Sudamericana places. However, a victory in this clash could see the home side move up to fifth in the table if other results go their way.
Last time out Vasco recorded a 4-1 win at Vitoria. However, that win had followed a draw with Coritiba and a defeat against Flamengo, so their recent Serie A results have been mixed of late.
The defeat against Flamengo ended a three game winning run on home soil for the Rio outfit, so they will be hoping to get back to winning ways in this clash.
Santos are currently third in the Serie A table. However, the visitors are a massive 12 points behind league leaders Corinthians. A win could move Levir Culpi’s team up to second place, depending on Gremio’s result.
The visitor's form has been decent of late and they have suffered just one defeat in their last nine league games. Last time out in the Brazilian top-flight they recorded a battling 1-0 win at Atletico Mineiro after a 3-2 win over Sao Paulo in their previous game.
Santos’ recent away form in Serie A has been impressive, as they have won three of their last four games on their travels. Their recent away games have been low scoring, though, as there have been under 2.5 goals scored in all of those aforementioned four away games.
Santos certainly head into this clash in more consistent form and Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a victory to cut the gap at the top of the table to nine points.
