Barcelona, on the other hand, did not go into the Supercopa de Espana in good form. They failed to win their last three games, losing twice and drawing once.
The Blaugrana are La Liga’s top scorers with 51 goals. However, before heading to the Supercopa, Barcelona scored just one time in two matches.
Robert Lewandowski has scored 16 La Liga goals. Teammate Raphinha has added 11 goals. Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe has tallied 10 goals. Vinicius Junior has bagged eight goals. Four of La Liga’s top-five goal scorers will feature in the Supercopa de Espana final.
The final will be the second El Clasico of the season for these rivals. The previous meeting saw Barcelona embarrass Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu 4-0. Lewandowski scored twice before Yamal and Raphinha got on the scoresheet. All four goals came in the second half.
Although Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao in the semifinal, they will face off with an in-form Real Madrid. Barcelona were on a bad run of form prior to the Supercopa mini-tournament.
