The form of Milan has generally been decent lately with four wins in the last six matches they played. Even before Conceicao took over, the squad was heading into sunnier places, and now they’re there.
Beating Juventus and Inter was impressive, and they look to be turning a corner. The confirmation of that could come when they face Cagliari at home, whom they have to beat if they want to have any hope of redeeming their season.
It’s time for them to finally start playing up to a certain standard because they do have one of the better teams in the league, roster-wise. They also can’t afford to miss out on the Champions League. Right now they’re eight points out, making this a must-win.

Cagliari might have won the last match they played, but before that the team was massively struggling with five losses in a row. They’re sitting at number 18 on the standings, which shows that it’s not a very good team overall.
The win they had came over Monza, which is the worst team in the league. It doesn’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things, certainly not that they’re now finally out of the funk.
Playing at San Siro has never been that comfortable for the team, as they lost 5-1 and 4-1 the last two times they were there.

This could be a very interesting matchup between two teams that are in contrasting moods right now. Even with the win, Cagliari are not enjoying life right now, with the overall level of play being rather poor.
Milan is going to come into this one riding the biggest high of the season after winning the Supercup, but there is danger there. If they don’t take this seriously, they might find themselves struggling to win a match they have to win.
