Sevilla haven’t won in almost a month, but they will get a golden chance when Valencia visits them over the weekend.

Valencia is massively struggling this year, and things are not looking good for their season. However, it’s not over yet, and they can save themselves if they start winning again, though it seems unlikely that it will happen in this match.

This mostly comes down to Sevilla likely going into this one heavily motivated after suffering a stunning defeat in the Spanish Cup. They’re also at home, and if they’re going to win matches somewhere, it’s likely going to be at home.

On another note, Valencia has been one of the worst teams in the league, and that shouldn’t scare the home team. Keep reading our Sevilla vs Valencia preview to find out if the home team will win as expected, or if our algorithm forecasts an upset.

Sevilla vs Valencia preview

Sevilla team form

Sevilla haven’t played that well this year, sitting only at number 13 in the standings. Still, they are capable of producing some solid efforts. For example, scoring two goals at Real Madrid is not a bad effort.

Lately, though, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag. For example, they go to Atlético Madrid and barely lose 4-3, but then struggle to win other matches. What remains true, though, is that at home they should be more dangerous.

Another thing to consider is that they have generally performed better this year when facing stronger teams. While Valencia isn’t strong per se, they are historically a great Spanish team, so maybe the home side will find motivation there.

It’s a perfect chance to win again because the last time they did so was almost a month ago.

Valencia team form

Not much can be said about Valencia this year because the team has been utterly bad. This is a historic side that at one point was one of the better teams in Europe, but those days are long gone.

Now they’re fighting to stay in the league and it hasn’t gone well so far, as they sit at number 20 in the league. Their most recent La Liga match was really good though, with Valencia leading against Real Madrid for a good amount of time.

They conceded very late to lose, though, and that will be a massive blow to their morale. Whether they can come back to play inspired football remains to be seen, but it won’t be easy to do so against Sevilla away.

Sevilla vs Valencia prediction

Realistically, there is only one thing that is likely to happen here. It’s a win for the home team, who are not only better but have also generally performed much better this year.

Sevilla have earned 22 points so far compared to only 12 for Valencia. They have six wins compared to only two for Valencia.

It’s true that Valencia have played much better lately, but it’s still a pretty weak squad overall. Everything points to a Sevilla win, including our algorithm, which puts a victory for the home side at a 46% likelihood of happening.
