Gremio to prove too strong for Coritiba

Gremio will look to continue their good start to the Serie A season when they host Coritiba at the Arena Do Gremio on Friday.
Gremio are currently second in the Brazilian top-flight table, having accrued 19 points from their eight games so far. A win in this clash would move the Porto Alegre outfit to the top of the table above leaders Corinthians by two points. In fact, a draw would be enough for Gremio to move to the top of the table, but only on goal difference.
Last time out the home side drew 3-3 at Cruzeiro. The draw ended a five-game winning run for Renato Gaucho’s men but did ensure that Gremio are unbeaten in six games in Serie A and have now lost just once in their last 11 games in the Brazilian top-flight.
The home side have been prolific in front of goal this season and are top scorers in Serie A with 21 goals. Their recent home record in Serie A is good, as they have won four of their last five league games on home soil and have kept clean sheets in seven of their last nine games on home soil in the Brazilian top-flight.
Coritiba have made a solid start to their league campaign and they are currently fourth in the table. A win would move the visitors to within a point of the home side, but that is certainly a tough task.
Despite a solid start to the campaign, Pachequinho’s men have drawn their last three games in Serie A. Last time out they drew 0-0 with Corinthians, which considering their opponents form this season has to be considered a good result.
Forebet predicts that Coritiba’s run of draws will end at the Arena Do Gremio, with the home team recording a victory.
