Espanyol to add to Granada’s woes

Granada have endured a truly terrible campaign in La Liga and having already been relegated finish their campaign off with a home game against midtable Espanyol on Friday night.
Granada are currently bottom of the table but could move into 19th with a victory over their visitors from Catalonia. However, even avoiding defeat at this stage seems a pipedream for the home side. The team from Andalusia have lost 11 of their last 12 games in La Liga.
In fact, Granada have suffered six straight home defeats and would equal the record for most consecutive La Liga home defeats if they are defeated by the visitors in this clash.
The home side have also conceded two or more goals in their last seven La Liga outings while failing to score in their last three home games in the Spanish top-flight.
Former Arsenal hero Tony Adams recently took charge of the struggling Spanish side but has been unable to stop the rot at the club.
Espanyol are currently tenth in La Liga, but a win would move them up to eighth in the table, with rivals Eibar and Alaves playing later in the weekend.
The visitor's form has dipped in recent weeks, as they have lost three of their last five games in the Spanish top-flight. However, two of those defeats were inflicted by Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ team are actually unbeaten in three games on their travels in La Liga and will more than fancy their chances of recording a victory in Andalusia.
The visitors have been involved in a number of low-scoring encounters of late with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine outings in La Liga.
Espanyol may not be in the best of form, but they should have enough quality to see off a Granada side who are struggling for confidence.
