Leganes to record crucial win over Real Betis

With the Spanish season drawing to a close, it's not just matters at the top of La Liga that are of interest to the fans. The battle to avoid relegation to the second tier is also still very much alive.
One of the teams involved in that relegation battle is minnows Leganes. They host Real Betis on Monday night in a game that could be crucial to their survival hopes.
The visitors are 15th place in La Liga but are mathematically safe from the drop. However, Leganes are 17th and just three points clear of 18th place Sporting Gijon. A win on Tuesday night would all-but confirm Leganes place in the Spanish top-flight for next season.
However, Asier Garitano’s team have seen their form dip dramatically in recent weeks. They have lost five of their last six games in La Liga. In fact, the Spanish top-flight debutants have recorded just one win in their last nine games in the Spanish top-flight.
The team from the outskirts of the capital know that they need a win in this clash to stave off the threat of relegation and make sure they enjoy just their second ever campaign in La Liga.
Their home form in La Liga has been mixed of late, having recorded three wins, suffered two defeats and also drawn once.
Real Betis are not in great form ahead of this clash. Victor Sanchez’s side have suffered defeat in five of their last seven La Liga games.
However, the Seville-based outfit have accumulated enough points to have already secured their place in La Liga for next season. Betis have very little to play for, so could be ideal opponents for the Leganes to face.
