Brazil’s Gremio will wrap up their Copa Libertadores Group C campaign on Saturday against Argentina’s Estudiantes. A win or draw for Gremio would see them top Group C. Will our algorithm back Gremio to pick up a result?
Estudiantes have already been eliminated from progression in the Copa Libertadores. Indeed, the Argentine team cannot even progress to the Copa Sudamericana.
The club from La Plata are aiming to cause a shake up in the Copa Libertadores, however. A win over Gremio would see the Brazilians finish second in the group behind Bolivian club, The Strongest.

These teams have met three times dating back to 2018. The teams shared the wins with one apiece and one draw. However, the draw saw Gremio go on to victory in a penalty shootout. The previous three encounters saw Gremio outscore Estudiantes 9-6.
Gremio’s Franco Cristaldo and Yeferson Soteldo are top of the goal scoring chart in league and Copa Libertadores matches. However, the duo has tallied just four goals in total – two apiece.
Javier Correa leads Estudiantes in goals in the Copa Libertadores with three. He scored twice on matchday 5 in Estudiantes’ 4-3 loss at home to Huachipato.
Although Gremio won the reverse fixture against Estudiantes, the Argentine club cannot be counted out from winning on Saturday in Brazil. Just one goal separated these teams previously. Nathan Fernandes’ 75th-minute goal was the difference.
