All eyes of the football world will be on the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid on Sunday night, as European champions Real Madrid host arch-nemesis Barcelona in El Clasico.

The two Clasico’s between the two great rivals usually play a big part in the destination of the La Liga title. This season is no different. A win for the home side could all-but seal the Spanish top-flight title.

Los Blancos are currently three points ahead of Barcelona with a game in hand on the reigning Spanish champions. A win would give the men from the capital an almost unassailable lead at the top of the table.

Zinedine Zidane’s team heads into this clash on the back of seven wins and two draws in their last nine games in La Liga. On Tuesday night Real also defeated German champions Bayern Munich in extra-time to make it through to the last four of the Champions League, so spirits will be high in the Real camp.

The home side have a very impressive unbeaten run on home soil in La Liga, having gone 21 games unbeaten in the Spanish top-flight at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid have in fact have suffered only four home defeats in La Liga in the last three years. Two of those defeats were inflicted by Atletico Madrid and the other two by Sunday night’s opponents.

Barcelona heads into this clash on the back of a Champions League quarter-final to Juventus. Their recent overall form has not been great, winning just one of their last four games in all competitions and failing to score in three of those outings.

The visitors recent La Liga record is not terrible, though, as Luis Enrique’s side have won ten of their last 12 games in the Spanish top-flight, while also scoring two or more goals in all ten of those victories.

However, Real Madrid head into this game as the form side and Forebet predicts that the European champions will record a vital victory in this massive clash.
