Toffees to make things sticky for the Foxes

Toffees to make things sticky for the Foxes

Leicester City have enjoyed a fantastic run of form under interim boss Craig Shakespeare, winning their last six games in all competitions. However, that good recent run will be given a stern test at Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Everton are seventh place and are still in contention for a top-six in the Premier League this season. Their chances of nicking a top four spot now seem to have gone, after a defeat at Liverpool and a draw at Manchester United in their last two games.

Despite disappointing results in those recent away games, the Toffees have a very strong home record. The Merseysiders have won their last six games on home soil in the Premier League, finding the net at least twice in all six victories.

The Premier League’s top scorer Romelu Lukaku has scored ten goals in his last six appearances for the Toffees at Goodison Park. The Belgian international will be confident of adding to his 21-goal league tally this season.

Leicester have recorded wins in their last five Premier League games, including last time out with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. Despite that good general form, the Foxes away record has been very poor in recent months.

In fact, the reigning English champions have won just once in their last 16 games on their travels in the Premier League. The visitors did win at West Ham last time out on their travels in the top-flight.

England striker Jamie Vardy has been in superb form of late and has scored five goals in his last five top-flight appearances for the Foxes. His goals have been vital in the visitor’s recent revival in the Premier League. He may fancy his chances against an Everton team missing defenders Seamus Coleman, Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Everton’s home record is formidable and Forebet predicts that the Toffees will end the Foxes good run of form with another home victory.
