Burnley to get back to winning ways against Stoke

Burnley have enjoyed a good return to the Premier League, with their home form at Turf Moor particularly impressive. However, the Clarets are currently going through a poor spell of form of late.

Sean Dyche’s team have now failed to win any of their last seven games in the Premier League. However, a home clash with another out-of-sorts side Stoke City on Tuesday night gives Burnley the chance to pick up what could prove to be a vital victory.

The side from Lancashire are now looking over their shoulders, as they now find themselves 15th in the Premier League table and just five points above the drop zone.

The Clarets aforementioned home form had been very good for much of the season, but they have failed to win any of their last three home games in the league, drawing twice and losing once. At the weekend Dyche’s side suffered a 2-0 home defeat against high-flying Tottenham.

Burnley know they have to pick up a few more wins in the next couple of games and this game seems the ideal opportunity to record maximum points.

Stoke are ninth in the Premier League table but have won just two of their last nine league games. Such is the congested nature of the middle of the table that Burnley could move just one point behind the Potters with a victory in this clash.

Mark Hughes side have won just one of their last eight away games in the Premier League, suffering six defeats in the process. It is important to note that the one victory in that run was at rock-bottom Sunderland back in mid-January.

Neither side are in great form. However, having been in poor form of late the Clarets will be desperate to pick up a victory and should have enough quality to see off a travel sick Potters side.
