Real Madrid host midtable Alaves in La Liga on Sunday afternoon as Los Blancos look to record a vital win in the race for the Spanish top-flight title.

The home side are currently two points clear of second-place Barcelona, but also have a game in hand on their arch rivals. Zinedine Zidane’s side have been in good form of late, recording four wins in their last five La Liga outings.

Zidane’s team have in fact won 31 of their last 38 La Liga games. Los Blancos home record is very impressive, as the European champions have won 17 of their last 20 league games on home soil. Their last home defeat in La Liga came in February 2016 when Atletico won 1-0 at the Bernabeu.

Zidane’s team have also been prolific on home soil in La Liga, scoring two or more goals in their last ten games.

Alaves are enjoying a good La Liga campaign and are currently 10th in the Spanish top-flight table. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been in good form of late in La Liga, winning four times and losing just once in the process.

In fact, Alaves have lost just two of their last 14 La Liga games, so the visitors really have held their own in the Spanish top-flight of late. The visitors have a terrible recent record against Real Madrid, having won just two of the 23 La Liga meetings between the two teams.

They have also won just one of their 11 visits to the Bernabeu in La Liga and suffered ten defeats in the process. Alaves have lost their last six games against Real Madrid and lost 4-1 in the reverse fixture.

Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will record a win this clash and enhance their chances of winning the Spanish title this season.
