Sevilla have emerged as genuine La Liga title contenders and head to midtable Alaves on Monday night, as Jorge Sampaoli’s side look to catch up to the big two in Spain.

The team from Andalucía fell further behind leaders Barcelona and second place Real Madrid, with Barcelona now five points ahead at the top. Sampaoli’s side have now won their last four La Liga games to stay in contention for the Spanish title.

The visitor’s away form has been very strong of late, as they have won five of their last six games on their travels in La Liga.  Sevilla have been prolific on their travels in La Liga, scoring two or more goals in seven of their last ten games. Sampaoli’s side have kept just three clean sheets in those aforementioned ten games, though.

The visitors have won five of the last seven meetings with Alaves in all competitions, having scored in all but one of those seven meetings.

Alaves currently sit 11th in La Liga and have enjoyed a decent campaign in the Spanish top-flight. However, Maurizio Pellegrino’s side have been inconsistent of late, as Alaves have lost two of their last four games in La Liga.

A win in this game could move them into the top half of the table. Alaves home form in La Liga has not been great, as they have won just two of their last nine league games at the Estadio de Mendizorroza.

There has been over 2.5 goals scored in three of Alaves last four home games in La Liga. Overall there has also been over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings in the Spanish top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Sevilla will continue their title charge in this clash and Alaves recent inconsistent form will continue.
