Brentford ready to heap more misery on struggling Leicester

In-form Brentford will aim to pile more pressure on relegation-threatened Leicester City when the two sides meet at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes find themselves 16th in the Premier League table – two points above bottom club Southampton – have lost each of their last four games.

At the opposite end of the standings, the Bees occupy eighth place. Not only are they 17 points clear of Leicester, but they are also just three points outside the top five.

Thomas Frank’s side head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a 2-0 victory over Southampton in midweek, with Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa grabbing the goals.

Despite seeing just 35% of the ball at St. Mary’s, Brentford managed to rack up 11 shots – five of which were on target.

Thanks to a 12-game unbeaten run between October and February, the Bees have only lost one of their previous 14 Premier League matches.

Having avoided defeat in each of their last nine home league games, Brentford are in a strong position to take down Leicester City this weekend.

As for Leicester, they come into this clash on a five-game losing run across all competitions, having fallen to Manchester United, Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton and Chelsea.

The Foxes have conceded over 1.5 goals in three of their last five outings and have also failed to score on three occasions during that period.

When you look at the bigger picture, Leicester have lost 16 of their 26 Premier League matches this season, meaning only Saints have suffered more defeats.

It is also worth noting that Brendan Rodgers’ men hold the third-worst defensive record in the division, having conceded a whopping 46 goals this term.

Head-to-head: Although Leicester are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Brentford, it’s the Bees who head into Saturday’s showdown as favourites.

Given that each of the last four meetings have produced over 2.5 goals, we should see a high-scoring encounter at Gtech Community Stadium.

Team news: Brentford will be without the injured duo of Keane Lewis-Potter and Thomas Strakosha this weekend, while Mads Roerslev Rasmussen is a doubt.

On the flip side, Leicester’s injury list contains James Justin, Youri Tielemans, Victor Kristiansen and Ryan Bertrand, while Wout Faes is suspended.

Given that 17-point gulf between Brentford and Leicester, the hosts are expected to extend their hot streak on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Brentford will inflict a sixth straight defeat on Leicester City, with the Bees likely to score over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
