On Wednesday night in-form Tottenham host Premier League leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane, in a game that could prove pivotal in the race for the league title.
Tottenham have hit top form of late, having recorded four straight wins and scoring 13 goals in the process. Not only are Mauricio Pochettino’s team prolific scorers but they also have the second-best defensive record in the top-flight, with Chelsea the only team to have conceded less this season.
Tottenham are definitely on the up, with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli in top form at the moment. The men from north London will certainly provide their south London counterparts with a major challenge in this clash.
Chelsea have been on a fantastic run of form of late, recording 13 consecutive wins in the Premier League. That good run of form has also seen the Blues record 10 ten clean sheets, which has contributed to Antonio Conte’s side having the best defensive record in the top-flight.
The Blues defence for the first time in a long time looked vulnerable in their 4-2 win over Stoke City last time out. The Potters made the Blues defence seem unsteady at times.
However, it may just have been a one-off for Conte’s men, as the Blues have been a highly-drilled solid defensive unit for much of the campaign.
While Chelsea possesses a solid defensive unit, their attack is not bad either, with Spanish striker Diego Costa currently on 14 Premier League goals for the season. Only second place Liverpool have scored more goals than the Blues this season in the top-flight.
This game should be a highly interesting tactical battle between two very good teams and bosses. Forebet predicts that Chelsea will record a 14th straight Premier League win, but Spurs are no pushovers and are likely to make life very difficult for the leaders.
