Huesca and FC Andorra set for Segunda stalemate
8314

FC Andorra’s hopes for moving close to the top of the Segunda table took a hit at the weekend courtesy of a 1-0 loss to Cartagena at home.

On Wednesday, FC Andorra will travel to Huesca to face off with the league’s 11th-place team. Huesca are out of form ahead of the match on Wednesday, with three straight games ending without a victory.

Los Azulgrana are just six points off the top six. A win would improve Huesca’s chances of reaching the top six.

Huesca go into the match in good form at the El Alcoraz Stadium. Los Azulgranas are unbeaten in eight straight games at the venue. They took 18 points from nine games at home this term.

Although Huesca are a good home team, their recent form in the Segunda isn’t great. Los Azulgrana took seven points from the last six games in the division. They scored a mere three goals across the last six games. Five goals were conceded by the team.

FC Andorra are in excellent form despite losing 2-1 to Cartagena at the weekend. It was their second loss in four games. Still, Andorra took 12 points from the last six matches in the league.

The Tricolours were exceptional in defence across the last six games, conceding just two goals. Cartagena scored both of those goals.

Andorra’s away record is 3W-3D-3L this season. They have a –2-goal difference with seven goals for and nine goals against.

SD Huesca kept a clean sheet in seven of their last eight home matches in the Segunda. Wednesday’s midweek fixture should be low on scoring between the teams. The game will be the first meeting in the Segunda between Huesca and Andorra after the latter was promoted to the division last season.

The Segunda has been low scoring this season, with 66% of its matches after 18 rounds ending with under 2.5 goals. The league had 68% of matches after 18 rounds finish with NO BTTS.

Turkish forward Sinan Bakis leads Andorra in scoring with seven goals. He has accounted for 35% of the Tricolours scoring.

Huesca are led in goals by Juan Carlos. He has just three goals this season in the league. Los Azulgrana are one of the Segunda’s lowest-scoring teams, with 15 goals from 18 games. The team’s defence allowed 14 goals in the opening 18 rounds.

Wednesday’s game should be low on goals, as Huesca and Andorra cancel each other out. The match should end nil-nil. The nil-nil scoreline is the second-most-common score in the Segunda after 18 rounds. 15.15% of games ended with the scores locked at nil-nil.
