Milan to Lift the Serie A Title With a Win Over Sassuolo
2257

It’s the biggest game of the past decade for AC Milan as they head to the Mapei Stadium with the 18-time champions of Italy looking to add title number 19 on the final day with them simply needing to match Inter Milan’s result.

Inter will be hosting Sampdoria on the final day too, but with Milan two points clear at the top of the table, a draw at the San Siro will mean Stefano Pioli's men win the title regardless of a result here.

On the other hand, they have an inferior goals difference against their city rivals, which doesn't bode well for them here if they draw and Inter win.

Nevertheless, Milan will just need to match their result, and against a Sassuolo side who have won only 13 times this season from 37 games, with 11 draws and 13 defeats too, they are the clear favourites to win now.

Moreover, prior to their win over Bologna, Sassuolo had failed to win their past four games since beating Atalanta back in early April.

The club have gone on to lose to relegation fighters Cagliari, Juventus, and even receive a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Napoli, while drawing with Udinese 1-1.

Their victory over Bologna was an impressive one, however, as Domenico Berardi scored once more, after Gianluca Scamacca capped off another decent season with his two goals.

The Black and Greens are also targetting a top 10 finish here too, with them only two points behind ninth-placed Hellas Verona and level on points with 10th-placed Torino.

Milan, however, are one of Europe's most in-form sides on the league front as they have won nine games in Serie A since their loss to Spezia at home in January, drawing the other five. Recently, they've managed to win their past five games since drawing 0-0 with Torino.

Atalanta were the victims of this incredible form last time out, as Rafael Leao scored once again, before Theo Hernandez scored arguably the goal of the season as he took on the entire Atalanta side from his own 18-yard box to finish in excellent style.

It was a goal that was worth winning the title within itself, and he could well bag himself Milan’s player of the season award too

Milan are now boasting 25 wins this season and only four draws, with the one less draw (8) keeping them ahead of Inter. Anything but win number 26 would be utterly disastrous for the club, and Forebet predicts Milan to win here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
