On Saturday afternoon, the German Bundesliga draws to a close for another season. There are still several issues left undecided heading into the final gameweek of season 2021/22. One of those outstanding issues is who will take the final European spot for next season.

Die Eisernen are certainly finishing the season with a flourish, as they are currently unbeaten in six league matches, having recorded five wins in the process. Union have also been prolific of late in the Bundesliga, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five league outings.
Union have been difficult to beat on home soil this season, as the only teams to return from a visit to the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei in the current campaign with a victory are the league’s top two Bayern Munich and Dortmund.
Bochum
The visitors have achieved their primary objective this season of beating the drop and avoiding a quick return to Bundesliga.2. The visitors are a massive 15 points clear of the automatic relegation spots heading into gameweek 34, having comfortably secured survival.
Thomas Reis’ team head into this encounter on the back of two straight wins over Dortmund and Arminia Bielefeld. It seems they are finishing their Bundesliga campaign on a high note.
The win at Dortmund means that Bochum has won two of their last three away games in the German Bundesliga.
