Leeds tipped to edge out Crystal Palace on Monday night

Just four points separate fourteenth-place Crystal Palace and sixteenth-place Leeds United as the two sides prepare to do battle at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Thanks to an impressive turnaround under Jesse Marsch, Leeds find themselves eight points clear of the relegation zone with six games remaining.

Meanwhile, the Eagles were ninth at the start of the month but have slipped to fourteenth following a series of disappointing results.

Crystal Palace are currently enduring a three-game losing streak across all competitions and have managed to score just one goal in that time.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Leicester, Patrick Vieira’s side lost 2-0 Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals before suffering a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle on Wednesday.

It is also worth noting that Crystal Palace have managed to win just one of their previous six home games in the Premier League.

There is no denying that Vieira has transformed the Eagles. However, they are in danger of finishing the season on a negative note if they carry on the way they’re going.

On the flip side, Leeds United head into Monday’s clash on a four-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Thanks to wins over Norwich (2-1), Wolves (3-2) and Watford (3-0), as well as a 1-1 draw against Southampton, the Yorkshire outfit have all but escaped the relegation battle.

Still, it is worth remembering that Leeds have the worst defensive record in the Premier League – having conceded 68 goals in 32 matches.

The 3-0 victory over Watford last time out saw Leeds keep their first clean sheet in the Premier League since November.

Head-to-head: Crystal Palace have only managed to win one of their past seven meetings with Leeds in all competitions.

In 2021, Leeds claimed two shutout victories over the Eagles – winning 2-0 at the end of last season before winning 1-0 earlier this season.

Team news: Palace look set to be without the injured trio of Luka Milivojevic, Michael Olise and Nathan Ferguson on Monday.

As for Leeds, they currently have Tyler Roberts, Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton sidelined through injury.

Although the Eagles are enjoying a solid season under Vieira, Leeds have taken their game to another level since Marsch’s arrival.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Leeds will edge out Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. We are also likely to see over 2.5 goals on Monday.
