West Brom to Stay in the Play-Offs With a Win Over Millwall
Millwall vs West Bromwich - 29/01/2022
2254
Two sides with contrasting seasons are set to clash at The Den this weekend as West Bromwich Albion travel to London to face off with a Millwall side who are still yet to break into the top half in what has been a struggle this campaign.
Millwall are a healthy distance from the bottom three still, which will give fans some hope of breaking what is just a three-point gap on the top 12.
The club are 13 points above the relegation zone and with still a game in hand on most around them, they will be safe this season but it remains to be seen whether or not they can finish any higher than 15th.
Millwall's overall record in the Championship this season is a tough read for the fans, however.
As of now, they sit with just eight wins from the 26 games played and with nine draws and nine defeats too, they have not failed to win more than a quarter of their games this season.
At the same time, they have managed to let in 29 goals and score just 27 of their own as Tom Bradshaw leads the way with seven goals this campaign.
Benik Afobe is lagging behind his usual decent contribution ratio, as he has netted only six goals this season.
What's worse for Millwall now, however, is how they haven't won a game in their past four and tasted victory just four times since the start of November.
Since defeating Coventry City away from home in an impressive display in December, the Lions have lost every game in January, including defeats to Bristol City, Nottingham Forest, and Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
Worse yet, they also saw defeat come against Blackpool, who subsequently jumped ahead of them in the table, and it also means the London outfit have scored only three goals in January.
West Brom have concerns of their own as their losses to Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End in January combined with just two wins in December has now put the club in fifth and their play-off spot under serious threat from the likes of Middlesbrough and Forest.
Millwall’s home form remains relatively decent despite their rough form, but West Brom have still conceded just 22 league goals all season long, and nobody in the league has let in less. Forebet predicts and away win here, but in a game that will see under 2.5 goals
